Flo Vs The Epic Queue of Epicness Part 2

Previously on Flo Vs The Epic Queue of Epicness

We walked away disheartened and a little apprehensive not sure what was going to happen, would we make the ASH photo shoot in time? Of course you might be thinking at this point "Grow a pair Flo, go to ASH on your own!" but NO!!! We were in this together, it was all or nothing.....we had made a pinkie promise!

We dropped Sue off at her Jenna shoot and crossed all our fingers and toes that she would make it out in good time.
Off I went to hunt down a cold beverage, get some fresh air and wait for what felt like an eternity for Sue to call....

Apparently Jenna wasn't well so kudos to her for still going ahead with the shoot!!

Finally Dans phone rang  "Which photo area is ASH in?" Sue asked as the phone was passed to me.
"Are you free?" I squeed down the line. "Are you out of your epic queue?"
"I might be....Now come meet me...!"
I threw the phone at Dan (sorry) and legged it (not skipped but ran) across Earls Court to where Sue was waiting for me looking slightly disappointed....

"Its not ASH...." she said...Someone else was using OUR shoot area for their session, ASH had been moved but where...oh my goodness today was really beginning to end on a dramatic note, off we went to investigate, luckily we found him hiding in another photo shoot area, we joined our final epic queue of the day and suddenly without warning became huge "woo girls"....

Mr Head looked absolutely gorgeous, dressed in a suit with his top button undone *swoon* I had some serious butterflies in my tummy about meeting him.
We both had swoon moments with him. Sue with the hug that just went on and on and me being called "my darling" after thanking him (and possibly curtseying in front of him yes I am embarrassing).

The endless hug
*SWOON*

Some other highlights of the day:

  • Our batman and superman skirts, so floaty and lots of fun!!
  • Singing "You give love a bad name" to Jon Snow
  • Girl wearing a dress with the Game of Thrones map design on it and Sue saying "check out her Wisterarse...."
  • Seeing Optimus Prime and Bumblebee
  • Meeting my gaming buddy, John, for reals and his lovely fiancee Maxine
  • Spending the day with my three best friends (as we say the original and the best!) Thanks for another awesome year guys.
  • Enjoying an awesome burger with a cold beer (or three)

FOOOOOD TIIIIIIIME!!!

We left London that evening feeling absolutely shattered but most definitely satisfied with the days events, yes it was hot, yes it was over crowded but this was Comic-Con and we wouldn't change it for the world!!

On behalf of me and my friends I would like to send a HUGE hug and thank you to Showmasters for putting on such an amazing day out.

ROLL ON NEXT YEAR!!!!!!

Flo Vs The Epic Queues Of Epicness Part 1

7am and my alarm is going off, for once it didn't matter though as I was so excited I had been awake since 6....for this was the day I had been waiting for since leaving London on Saturday July 6th 2013.

Today was *cue trumpets* LFCC 2014 day *faints*

We arrived at Earls Court around 10.15am on the Saturday morning, joined our first epic queue of the day - for the standard prepaid entry, and despite all my worries about getting in on time (I had a photoshoot starting at 11.15 and it was the only one Mr Romero was doing on the Saturday) once they opened the doors at 11am we flowed nicely in at around 11.05am, with time to spare.

First item on our hit list was to join our second epic queue at the sales desk to buy photo op tickets with Anthony Head. Due to my hot date with a certain Mr zombie director sir! I had to leave and head  straight to my shoot area. As I left I turned round to Sue and shouted "race you to the end of the queue..." Assuming she would be waiting for me outside my shoot....

The queue for Mr Romero was quite quick though. Around 20 minutes, a handshake and a hug later this happened:

Nicest guy. And Best. Glasses. EVAR!!
Sadly Sue was still stood in her epic queue when I returned and this actually ended up being the slowest queue we were in the whole day (probably due to people paying by card and us not realising the queue next to us had been cash only DOH!), when we finally got to the front we were advised they had added an additional shoot as Mr Head was quite popular (we weren't surprised to be honest) but as we had ticket numbers below 400 we would be OK to go to either one. We decided to stick to the original plan of going to the 2.15 shoot (especially as the new shoot clashed with another shoot on our hit list).

ASH tickets in hand, off we skipped, free at last, and headed straight for a mooch around the stalls.

Hmmmm mooch we could not though, LFCC was so so busy this year (good to see though) that mooching was simply out of the question, Luckily *Waynes World style flashback to train journey* we all had made a "wishlist" of items we wanted to check out and stalls selling these were made our priority.
Sadly I know I missed out on being able to properly check out some replica props, jewellery and shoes (yes shoes :-( I has sad) as we were swept past by a river of people, but some items on my list were ticked off so Im not too disappointed but also not happy that I came home with money....WTAF?!?!

The search for Cas begins...

At one point it just got too hot inside, you could feel the air con trying its best to cool everyone down but it was also feeling the strain so we decided to step out for some fresh air, cool down and grab something to eat.
Being outside was just as much fun as being inside we were surrounded by literally hundreds of Cos-players. We saw some amazing outfits, sadly we were so taken by some of them that we forgot to take any pictures....dammit!

Checking the time we realised that Sue and I had far more important things to be getting on with so we headed back inside. Filled with excitement we again skipped (as best we could amongst the crowds) across EC2 towards Anthony Heads photo shoot. Much to our dismay we arrived to find a huge crowd of very confused people and we were not sure if we could join the queue or not.
There were all sorts of whispers going around the crowd that the shoot had be halved to accommodate another guest, possibly only gold ticket holders were being seen and then someone mentioned that they heard only tickets 1-100 would be seen in this particular shoot. Suddenly panic struck us. We had tickets 374 and 375 and the newly announced shoot clashed with Sue's only other photo op with Jenna Coleman. What on earth were our heroes going to do?
Suddenly someone started shouting "Can I have your attention please, we are very limited to time on this shoot for Anthony Head, we are only able to see ticket holders 1-100 everybody else there will be another shoot at 5.25 we will see you then..."

To be continued....

Flo Vs 8 wheels

If anyone had ever told me that my first experience of Goodwood would actually be going round the motor circuit on roller skates I would probably have thought them crazy...CRAZY I tells ya!! But there I was on Sunday 25th May 2014 having a very surreal experience doing the South Coast Roll around Goodwood Motor Circuit!

I've had a bit of a skate obsession for nearly a year now, it all began when I bought a Groupon voucher for me and my bestie to go to the local Roller Disco for her birthday, we loved it so much we decided to go along to some skate lessons and we have never looked back.

Within the first month we had even invested in our own quads....

Sue with her new Rio Discos and me with my new Rio Retro - since these pictures were taken we have both also invested in some Airwaves wheels and new bearings
Skating soon became a big part of my life and lets face it has pretty much taken it over, what with going to the roller disco (Risco) practically every weekend, constantly checking out the latest boots/wheels/laces (anything really) to pimp out my quads (must resist temptation!), it's even involved a whole new wardrobe!

The vibrations tickled my feet...

Now I'm not going to lie to you, I was a little bit apprehensive on the morning of the SCR!
For 1: I had never experienced skating whilst wearing my safety pads before never mind skated outdoors 2. I was used to the nice smooth surface of The Mo Club not some evil rough tarmac that would hurt, and I mean really REALLY hurt if I fell. and 3. I had absolutely no idea what to expect!
What on earth had I got myself into?!? One lap of the circuit was something like 2.3 miles and there was talk of a skate marathon (?!? wtf) which would mean completing 11 of those laps, I really didn't think I would even complete one!

Pretty silly really as I had absolutely nothing to worry about. From the moment I started skating to the moment I finished (and beyond) I loved every single minute of it. I got round 2 laps and spent the rest of the afternoon cheering on my friends to completing half and full marathons (proud of the lot of ya).

Well done on your six laps guys!!! BEST. DAY. EVAR!! L-R: Me, Dan, Sue and Niall
I'm pretty sure all my skate buds will agree when I say we will deffo be back for more next year and I aim to double up my socks ;) and go for 4 laps maybe even a half marathon...ERMAGOD!!!

I really wish this event was more than once a year!! Roll on SCR next year!!
