Flo Vs The Hobbit

Ever since it was announced Peter Jackson was going to be bringing The LOTR prequel "The Hobbit" to the big screen I have been extremely excited and could not wait to see it!! However little did I know it was going to turn out to be quite the "Unexpected Journey" for me...

December 13th 2012 could not come quick enough! When the world did not thankfully come to an abrupt end on December 21st I made plans to see it between Christmas and new year, little did I know that obviously I was on the naughty list this year and the lovely FC himself was about to bring me the worse case of flu you have ever experienced and I spent the following two weeks in bed.....I honestly thought I was going to die (No I'm not a drama queen!!).

When I finally emerged back into the real world I discovered that EVERY single person on the planet had been to see it and thought I had sadly missed out, I was heart broken and gutted but shrugged it off and just thought "Oh I'll buy the blu-ray".
Enter Dad, stage right, who, being a huge Tolkien fan, very kindly offered to go see it again.
So there we were, sat in Deans diner at Port Solent, on a snowy Saturday afternoon trying to find a decent showtime of the film bearing in mind it had been out for over a month by now...ding! ding! ding! *starts jumping around* Vue at Gunwharf had a showing starting in just over an hour, we jumped in the car and bombed it quick time over to Pompey, joined the mahoosive queue and waited patiently to be served... to be told that the only seats available were in the very front row, absolute disaster. Was I ever going to get to see this film. Disheartened and gutted once again we went home.
THe following weekend was my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary so to celebrate (and be good children) my brother and I decided to treat them to meal (because sending them to Cardiff for a few nights wasn't enough...) and thought whilst we were out we would try again to see The Hobbit. THis time we booked tickets a few days in advance and late on the Sunday morning headed back over to Pompey to try again.
Excitedly I ran up the escalators and popped the credit card into the card machine and pushed the 'collect tickets' button. YAY!!!!
"Thank you, there are no tickets booked on this card"
.....WHAT!?!?
Try again
"Thank you, there are no tickets booked on this card"
Aah you have got to be kidding me...
and again and again...... :(
STOP SAYING THANK YOU!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
Upon investigation it turns out that in the wee early hours of the morning all the screens at Vue had gone down...dun dun durr!!..seriously?!? someone was determined that I was not going to see this film...we were told some engineer guys were working hard to get all the screens back up but had only been successful with a few therefore some films were having to be cancelled 'The Hobbit' possibly being one of them.
By now I just wanted to cry, I had never found it so hard to see a film...EVER!!!
After waiting around for about 3 hours (well probably more like 20 minutes but three hours seems more dramatic and it certainly felt like hours) we were finally told that our film was being shown....yay!! However there was no way I was going to be happy until I saw those credits rolling at the end of the film and I could walk away with the biggest smile on my face and finally say "I have seen it".
Well approx 169 minutes later (give or take a few trailers and ads) I could finally say just that and Mr Jackson...well what can I say I was hooked from start to finish, loved every minute of it, totally worth the wait and agro and I can not wait for "The Desolation of Smaug" to be released, roll on December!!
Hopefully my attempts to see the next one wont be so hard.....
